Building strong partnerships with state and federal agencies and nongovernmental organizations is key to the long-term success of the Network. We plan to continue to build relationships with existing supporters, as well as explore other mechanisms to ensure financial sustainability and preserve Tribal sovereignty and self-governance.
We work collaboratively with one another – and with state agency and nongovernmental supporters – to develop Tribally led initiatives that build ecological, community, and cultural resilience, and return management responsibilities to California Tribes in perpetuity.

Network participation requires a significant investment of Tribal Council and staff time, including taking part in planning and fundraising activities, electing leadership representatives, and collaborating on project management.
Any further expansion of the Network will require securing additional funding. However, we invite any Tribe that is interested in a long-term partnership to contact us directly.
TMSN works with a wide range of supporters. Supporters may collaborate with TMSN member Tribes to advance monitoring and cultural education projects, provide funding or help identify stable funding, and advocate broadly for Indigenous stewardship, co-management, and management in California.

There is not a mechanism for donating directly to the TMSN or signing up as an individual volunteer. However, we encourage you to visit the websites of the individual Tribes and give generously or otherwise support their programs and initiatives.
